Welcome
Welcome to P.E. at Elizabeth Ide!
Throughout your child’s time at Elizabeth Ide they will be exposed to a wide variety of skills and activities. Kindergarten will spend a lot of the year working on spatial awareness, manipulative skills such as throwing, rolling and kicking, and cooperative tasks working in partners, small groups or teams. First and Second grade is structured around units focusing on individual skills as well as having an SEL focus. Each week students do warm-ups that hit different target areas(endurance, strength, coordination, goal setting and SEL). Students at Elizabeth Ide receive P.E. everyday but only for 20 minutes. In order to see every class every day, a couple of classes in first and second grade are doubled. Emphasis is put on being active everyday and a lifelong enjoyment for physical activity.
