Winter Wonderland

Students who are properly dressed are allowed to go in the snow for recess. As this is the first time in a while, some of the students do not remember the rules regarding recess. I will be going over these rules with them this week and next. Please encourage your child to recognize the dangers that go along with playing in the snow and ice, and that their safety is what the recess teachers are concerned about; thus the reason for the rules!

Honorable Mention

Thank you to the second grade parents that came in and volunteered their time to help out with the fitness stations this past week! A parent letter will be going out next week regarding roller skating right after break if you would like to help out. The students are learning a lot of new games that make running fun. Ask them about the different games we use to get our heart rates up!

Don't Get Labeled

There is a new way to raise money for P.E. (gym) equipment! It's as easy as bringing in a label once you are done with anything that has a Nestle Pure Life brand on it. Give it to your son or daughter to turn in, and when we collect enough, we will have money to buy jump ropes, balls, or other new equipment. Thank you!

As of 10/26/07 Elizabeth Ide Students have brought in a total of 971 Nestle Pure Life Labels! Keep up the good work!

As of 11/19/07 Elizabeth Ide Students have brought in a total of 1275 Nestle Pure Life Labels!
Turn in date is soon so keep bringing those labels in!

Welcome Back Students!

Welcome to Physical Education at Elizabeth Ide! I am really excited about this year as I hope all of you are too! My name is Brian Kukulski and I will be teaching P.E. for grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I know this will be a fun and successful year. It was great to meet even more parents at the curriculum nights at Elizabeth Ide. As we move to the middle of September 1st and 2nd grade students are finishing up there movement units and going into a series of ball skills involving throwing, catching, hitting, and kicking. Ask your son or daughter what they learned in P.E. this week!
